Per-character fight art and manual planning order

2026-04-21

Finally pushing past the everyone-uses-Lamia placeholder phase. Maya, Nell, Tara, Lamia, Brute, Husk, Mirage, and Golem all have their own banner, field, dialogue, and story art, plus dedicated spell card portraits. A tuned-character whitelist routes each of them to their own sprites while untuned characters keep falling back to Lamia — that way the look is internally consistent per encounter instead of a mix of finished and placeholder art.

Revenant joined the tuned list too. The banner playout got a dedicated KO stage so knockouts land on their own panel, and the VS popup now shows each hero's actual spell portrait instead of defaulting to Maya's.

The story-map battle popup was overhauled: the trigger image for each fight uses that enemy's dialogue portrait, and the flat enemy list was replaced with a collapsible ENCOUNTERS section that shows fights as columns. You can see what you're walking into before the battle starts. Walking scenes got the same treatment — enemy triggers now render their story art instead of a generic placeholder.

Planning order is fully manual now. No more auto-advancing to the next hero when one finishes their plan — you pick who to plan next yourself. Worth revisiting as an A/B experiment later, but for now manual feels more like a decision and less like a treadmill.
