About the game

Song of Larithea is an anime-inspired tactical RPG, adapted from the world Inga Pflaumer first built in her fantasy novel Серце гріє (The Heart Warms), published by Гамазин in 2008. Set in Larithea — a world long abandoned by its gods, where the Veil holds back chaos, the Devastation shattered the southern desert, and the Pale Death has begun emptying towns — a party of young students from Ormron set out to find the truth behind these wounds, and uncover knowledge the world was never meant to remember.

Features

  • A coming-of-age — A naive girl, starry-eyed and in love, sets out on her first journey. The world she'll meet is older and harder than she is — and it will reshape her, and everyone who walks with her.
  • Lore worth digging up — The Great Desert, where its people remember what others forgot. Mining villages where the shafts go too deep. A northern city with a library of forbidden knowledge. Islands corroded by the Pale Death. Ruins still bearing the marks of the old wars.
  • Friends and traitors — Build trust. Create bonds. Tear them apart. Choose the hard thing and live with what comes next.
  • Tactical combat — Tactical fights on a 4×8 grid with a hard line splitting party from enemies. Position, range, and timing decide every battle.
  • Spell crafting — Build every spell from sigils. Choose its shape, its strength, its effects. Choose well off the field; the battle tells you if you got it right.

About the developer

Long before Song of Larithea was a game, it was a novel. Серце гріє (The Heart Warms), fantasy, 400 pages, published in 2008 by Гамазин. I'm Inga Pflaumer, the writer-developer behind both. My career since has been engineering — most recently Head of Engineering at Relevance AI, earlier Immutable and SMG Studio (Moving Out, Death Squared). The game is what sixteen years of carrying these characters around finally looks like, made solo in Sydney.

A note on the art

All visible art in Song of Larithea is AI-generated using Scenario, with custom-trained models that keep the cast consistent across scenes. Each asset is then hand-finished in Photoshop. There are no character or background animations yet — current builds are still images throughout. The plan is to work with a human artist as the game grows.
