The late-fight strain now storms across the battlefield

18.09.2026

As a fight drags on it moves through three escalating states, and until now the only sign of them was a line of text along the top of the screen. Now the field carries them too.

From the first strain turn, storm clouds start gathering around the edge of the grid — round, drawn-in, translucent — and grow bigger and denser each turn as the pressure climbs. When Battle Fatigue hits, the storm breaks: the clouds turn grey and lightning strikes in from the corners. And on the Last Resort turn a burning frame takes over the whole field, drawn from the fight's own state so it still shows if you reload mid-turn.

The clouds scale to each fight's real gap between strain and fatigue rather than a fixed count, so the buildup reads true to the fight you're in. None of this shows during the tutorial, and no hero or sprite animation is touched — it's the field around the fight that now tells you how late it's getting.
