Artwork holds steady in fights and on slower connections

In a fight, character art no longer blinks out for a frame as the camera zooms in. The hero panels keep their portraits as units act, take a hit, or fall, and a hero's spell cards stay drawn the instant you switch between heroes instead of reloading each time.

Comic cutscene panels, title chapter posters, and the rest of the game's artwork now load and clip the same reliable way, so a scene appears in one piece rather than catching up after it's already on screen.

Fights also start quicker: the game warms up its drawing engine while you're still on the title screen, so the first battle skips that wait.

Rounding it out: you can no longer stockpile more of an item than your party can use, and a Chapter 1 quest line reads more naturally.

Note: this update resets save data — you'll start a new game.
